He doesn't know what else to do, other than to make sure Megumi is comfortable, that he is settled down, that nothing else is going to hurt him. He's not even sure what happened to his partner, not when they had been in the middle of a fight and suddenly Fushiguro was on the ground. It was all he could do to fight off what remained of the creatures attacking them and run off with Megumi in his arms, once again pleased and just how fast he could actually run.
The hotel room is warm and clean, at least, and Yuji has run around trying to find bandages and any kind of first aid kit. He's no expert, barely able to patch himself up if anything does catch him off guard, but he's going to do his best - it's during his fumbling around in the bathroom that he hears Megumi calling out for him, and Yuji lurches, hitting his head on the basin as he pulls himself out of the cupboard below it. ]
Ouch...
[ Rubbing the back of his head, he steps out of the bathroom and walks over to Megumi's side immediately, reaching out to try and check on his wounds, just in case. ]
It's alright, Fushiguro. The fight's over, you're safe.
( Megumi doesn't register his hand is moving until it's already done so, clamping down on Yuji's wrists as he starts to check on him. It's only when his hand closes around the warmth of his wrist, feels the steady flutter of a pulse under his fingers that he seems to properly process that Yuji is near him.
He lifts his head slowly, looking up at the other through squinted eyes. )
What happened?
( After a few, long seconds, attention strangely fixates on Yuji's pulse, he finally pulls his hand away and instead pushes himself to sit up slowly. The movement comes with a small groan, and he reaches up to rub at his eyes. )
[ Yuji barely winces, the pain not really registering from the excitement of being so close to a living, breathing Megumi. He's alive, and that's what is most important, especially after that last fight. He really wasn't sure if he was doing a good job.
Shaking his head, Yuji leans a little close, the relief obvious on his face. ]
We were in a fight and you got hurt, but I think you're okay now.
[ Reaching out, he tries to steady Megumi with careful hands, laughing softly. ]
( Normally, Megumi would push Yuji out of his space or lean away. But instead, he only tilts his head slightly. A part of him is hyperaware of every part of him - the sound of his breathing, the thrum of his heartbeat, how he smells. It's more than he's used to, and he finds himself reaching up, scrubbing his hands over his face.
He breathes out slowly, tensing slightly at the feeling of those hands steadying him, but he doesn't push Yuji away. )
Until you went and hit your head on something.
( Yeah, he heard that, Yuji. )
Why is it so bright in here?
( ...Not that it actually is bright. But to those green eyes, it feels that way. )
[ It comes out as more of a little pout than it does any kind of defence, and Yuji shakes his head as he makes himself comfortable. Looking down at Megumi, he frowns, concerned, and a little worried. Something inside of him is still bubbling with nerves. ]
It's bright...? Do you want me to turn the light off?
[ He leans back immediately, shifting a little to go towards the lamps. ]
( Even through the blur of discomfort of the lights, Megumi can make out that pout. And it's met with a soft scoff and shake of his head. )
Don't worry about it.
( The idea of Yuji leaning away from him, even for just a moment, seems strangely unbearable, and he can't stop himself from reaching out to grab the front of the other's top to tug him back. And no sooner than he's close enough, Megumi tips forward, head landing on one of Yuji's shoulders, nose just shy of brushing against his collar. )
I'm fine.
( Except this close, he can smell Yuji. Hear the steady thrum of his pulse and sound of his breathing. It's strangely intoxicating. And he can't ignore the way his mouth suddenly fills wetter or the steadily growing urge to press his teeth or tongue against that warm skin. )
[ Yuji is a little bit worried about him, all things considered, and he looks between the light and Fushiguro for a moment before he settles down again. It's always been him that's the one in trouble, so this role reversal is a little weird.
He's going to do his best to be the best caretaker ever, though. ]
I can still go and get you anything. Are you thirsty? Hungry?
