[ it seemed like a logical conclusion at the time—with how often he was at yuji’s place checking in on him, it just made sense to have him move in with him. at least then he would know that yuji is fine and taken care of. and yes, maybe higuruma has started to care about him in more than just an adult looking out for a younger friend, but really, he didn’t stand a chance against yuji and his warmth.

[ Yuji's desire to intrude on Higuruma's space is limited, and he doesn't really want to cause more problems than his existence already brings, so he's careful as he stands and stares at the sheets. It's not even as if it's the biggest decision that he's going to have to make, or that it's something that is important in the long run, but... He still wants to make sure he makes the right choice.

[ Yuji doesn't imagine that Higuruma would see him as a liar; considering how he acted when they first met in the courtroom, when it comes to most things, Yuji is pretty honest. He only lies if he has to, or if there's a good reason for, like trying not to die. Day to day? Yuji is a good, honest young man, just like he was raised to be.

We should get sheets that suit us both, then it doesn't matter if they get mixed up in the laundry, right?

When he looks over at Higuruma, he hopes it's the kind of thing that the man beside him appreciates, especially since they're going to be spending more time together.

[ of course he is. since meeting him, yuji has been nothing but honest and sincere; he'd call it naivety if he wasn't aware of the pain yuji has already endured, the hardships he's had to overcome. honesty of this kind has no place in the courtroom, where anything could be taken and used against you, nor does it really have a place in this world. but he isn't immune to it—the genuine kindness that yuji radiates; the pain that it brings a result of seeing the ugliness in himself.

[ he tosses the set into the cart, crossing off his list. he turns the cart around to the next aisle where the bathroom items are located, reaching out to carefully ruffle yuji's hair as he passes by. ]
[ His own happiness is bubbling under the surface now, making him want to reach out and steal more, to claim just a little piece of this for himself - and if he can share that with Higuruma too... It seems like the best outcome. The life of a sorcerer isn't easy, and making space for one another hasn't been simple, but... They're making it work. Yuji wants this to work, so desperately. There's no escaping that want inside of him.
Sighing softly, he tilts his head up and lets his happiness shine through, bright and warm. ]
