OVERALL SKILL LEVEL:

Yuji is described as one of the series' most powerful and talented students. His teacher, Gojo, stated that he was on the same level of potential as Yuta Okkotsu and Kinji Hakari, the three students who he believes will surpass his strength. Despite having no connections to the jujutsu world before the canon began, Yuji is able to contend with and defeat Grade 1 and Special Grade curses. Yuji is also able to contain Sukuna with no ill effects, which allows him to perceive the shape of souls. This enables him to uniquelty harm Mahito, whose control over the shape of his soul otherwise renders him immune to injury.

VESSEL OF THE KING OF CURSES, SUKUNA

After eating the finger of Sukuna, Yuji became a vessel and has possessed him ever since. Thus far, Yuji has eaten fifteen fingers. Rather than being a vessel who lost his identity by Sukuna being incarnated into him, Yuji instead was a 'cage' for Sukuna: an incredibly unusual circumstance where the vessel can sometimes overpower and contain the entity sealed within the cursed object. No longer relevant as of chapter 212.

IMMENSE CURSED ENERGY

Yuji's cursed energy comes from the parts of Sukuna that he has consumed, but he does not have his own innate technique. Despite this, he is a fast learner and has adapted to having cursed energy quickly. His use of cursed energy is combined with his martial arts, to reinforce his strikes and cause damage to curses. Combining his cursed energy and superhuman physical abilities, Choso describing him as a "Demon God".

BLACK FLASH

A technique that creates spatial distortion when a user connects with an impact of cursed energy within 0.000001 seconds of a physical hit. The phenomenon causes cursed power to flash black, creating a more potent attack to the power of 2.5 of a normal hit. By the time he had his rematch with Mahito during the Shibuya Incident, Yuji managed to land a Black Flash with maximum cursed energy, displaying the ability to use it practically at will, a feat said to be impossible for even Satoru Gojo. Currently, Yuji is capable of using Black Flash at least eight times in a row and has performed it over ten times.

DIVERGENT FIST

Due to Yuji learning how to use cursed energy late, the Divergent Fist was created. ABy striking with his fist using a thin layer of cursed energy, a second wave of cursed energy is unleashed a few moments afterward, effectively creating two impacts with one punch. By perceiving Mahito's Soul, Yuji was able to use Divergent Fist to Mahito's soul directly, succeeding whereas attacks such as Kento Nanami's Ratio Technique failed. Thanks to his later understanding of cursed energy and development of other aspects of his abilities, Yuji no longer relies on Divergent Fist.

SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH

Yuji is incredibly physically strong and has been since before he was given cursed enery from Sukuna. He has historically been able to destroy walls, lift cars and damage foes with high levels of durability and protection. In a fight against Sukuna, Yuji has been able to kick a block of rubble from a destroyed building at him; his strength, as unique as it is, has often been compared to Nanami Kento.

He can even harm Hanami and Choso, two curses who have remarkable durability and toughness(Choso being described as near-impossible to damage). During his fight with Sukuna, Yuji jumped twenty stories from two buildings to reach and continue their fight.

IMMENSE SPEED AND REFLEXES

Yuji has been calculated to run at approximately 38 mph (and this was when he wasn't necessarily giving his all) and been able to dodge the attacks of five separate people at once. He can also dodge things such as Choso's Piercing Blood, which travels at the speed of sound, and is able to keep up with Maki when fighting at intense speed, despite being severely wounded from a previous battle. He can also attack at intense speed, as exampled in his fight with Mahito and the Grasshopper Curse.

IMMENSE DURABILITY AND STAMINA

Yuji has prven able to take blow after blow and continue to get up, well beyond the point that another sorcerer might have given up. He can take hits from moves that go as fast as the speed of sound, withstanding attacks from the Body of Distorted Killing and get back up - and has even gone as far as being punched through multiple buildings and get up. Fighting Higuruma without Cursed Energy, the lawyer commented that he's durable; Yuji said that it's one thing he's got going for him.

Yuji has an inhuman amount of stamina and been shown continuing to fight, despite grievous injuries, without rest.

HAND TO HAND COMBAT

Yuji's hand to hand fighting skills are mostly self taught and seem to be instinctual; he was taught a little by his grandfather, but learns from the people around him at a fast rate. He has control over his attacks, adjusting his punches and counters in split-second speeds. His style is acrobatic, jumping and twisting to take part in fights and uses techniques from Taido, such as Knee Release and Manji Kick. His martial arts skills have allowed him to keep up with other fighters like Todo, Choso, Mahito and Sukuna.

POISON RESISTANCE

Since Yuji is the vessel to Sukuna, he has a resistance to all kinds of poison. Yuji will feel the pain from the poison, but he is mostly unaffected. He's been able to resist Junpei's Moondregs poison, and Eso and Kechizu's Decay ability. No longer active (as far as we know) after chapter 212.

BLOOD MANIPULATION

After consuming Death Painting Wombs No. 4-9, Yuji inherited the Kamo Blood Manipulation technique and was taught by Noritoshi Kamo and Choso. His training in Blood Manipulation is limited, as he's only had approximately a month to learn to use it - he can use Piercing Blood and explode his blood, but he has yet to master Convergence well and relies on Choso for it.

SIMPLE DOMAIN

Thanks to his 'special training' with Kusakabe (swapping bodies with him so that his body can learn the technique) Yuji is able to use the New Shadow Style: Simple Domain. This is an anti-domain technique that erects a small domain complete with a barrier around Yuji to protect him from the effects of a Domain Expansion.

REVERSE CURSED TECHNIQUE

Thanks to swapping bodies with Yuta Okkotsu, Yuji has learned how to use Reverse Cursed Technique: using cursed energy and reversing it into positive energy in order to heal oneself. He has also learned learned to sense out the more fatal internal wounds caused from attacks and heal them with reverse cursed technique thanks to his understanding of Blood Manipulation.
